Our goal
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most widely used for websites in the United States.
What we’ve done
- Text and controls are checked against WCAG’s minimum color contrast, including text placed over photos.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, shows where you are with a visible outline, and has a “Skip to content” link.
- Pages use headings in order, so screen reader users can move around easily.
- Photos that carry meaning have text descriptions. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers, and the same information is in the page text.
- Every form field has a label, and if something is missing, the form says what to fix next to that field.
- Pages work on phones and when text is enlarged up to 200%.
- Moving effects follow your device’s “reduce motion” setting. Apart from a short animation when a page first loads, nothing moves unless you scroll.
How we check
We review the website with automated tools and by hand: using only a keyboard, at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, with enlarged text and with reduced motion turned on. We check again whenever the website changes significantly.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of this website is hard for you to use, please let us know through our contact form. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we’ll work with you to get you the information you need in another way.
